The Craft We specialise in restoring and reupholstering single sofas, chairs or suited sets. Staff have over 35 years experience of traditional and modern upholstery. As a result we have an intimate knowledge of both traditional hand made and modern manufactured styles.

Techniques We take time in handcrafting our work with care and attention to detail. The piece may be Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian or even modern classics such as Parker Knoll, Cintique and Ercol chairs. Working slowly we use techniques which are sympathetic to a specific period and style.

Materials The materials we source for our traditional work are natural in origin, of the best quality and as near as possible specific to the original or better. English twill or jute webbing, tempered steel springs, hessian or linen supports and vegetable and animal hair fillings. Even natural flax twine is used for internal stitching.

Modern styles We also offer a modern re-upholstery service for tailored styles and detachable covers. Unless requested by the client all our modern re-upholstery is stripped back to the frame with new fillings and sundry materials throughout, fully compliant with flame retardant legislation

The Service After a home visit and a discussion with the client a detailed work schedule and estimate are provided. If the above is acceptable a date to commence the work will be agreed. A portfolio of past projects is available showing before and after examples of a wide range of projects.

Workshop Where possible we encourage clients to visit our workshop to see their work in progress or to select fabrics and discuss matching details.
